I can't really explain why these two items popped into my head recently — but I suddenly felt like I needed to give a bit of attention to two styles I really love that haven't been featured much this season yet.

The Ayala maxi cardigan and the Lin wide leg trousers. Two pieces that I think work beautifully together and are a perfect foundation for an outfit that can move from corporate to sophisticated to casual depending on how you layer it and accessorise it.

Our Ayala cardigan is one of those pieces that can sit quietly on the site for a while and then suddenly someone discovers it and we make a whole lot of them. I really love this cardigan. It's a lightweight layering piece with a waterfall front and high side slits that give it movement and make it feel light and airy. The kind of piece you reach for on a cool evening or when you want to add another layer of colour and texture to your favourite outfit. It works over a top and bottom, over a dress, over just about everything. We're bringing it online today in cocoa — and also relaunching it in black with fresh new images.

On the trousers — we've had quite a few queries recently for structured pants, and while we're still working on figuring out how to bring our most loved printed structured pants back, we feel like this silhouette is strong enough to carry itself in solid colours. The Lin wide leg trouser has been part of our brand since the inception of the Core Collection. Made in a rayon linen blend for softness and drape, with a medium rise, shaped through the hip and a long sweeping leg that reaches the floor. It's a more structured silhouette than most of what we make — and that's exactly the point. Clean, sophisticated, and the kind of trouser that elongates the body and pulls an outfit together instantly. Today we're relaunching it in sand. Both styles are available in a few classic colours, including navy and black.
