Hello, friends. Now that you know the story behind our Blake t-shirt, let's talk about colour, and in particular the two new colours we've dropped today.
First up is blush pink. It sits in the same family as the dusty rose you've seen in our Magnolia wrap dress and our Lourdes t-shirt. It's soft, delicate and feminine, with a warmth that suits every complexion.
Then there's light grey melange, a texture with quite a bit of history. If you haven't come across it before, mélange is the French word for mixture. The fabric was traditionally made by blending black and white fibres together before they were spun, which gives it that soft, speckled look. Today the effect is often recreated with a textured yarn that combines different tones of grey, from very light to dark, at uneven intervals, so the surface looks flecked and a little different everywhere you
look. Grey melange has long been a sportswear favourite, which is why it gives an outfit a modern, urban feel.
Between them, you get two different energies, one more feminine and one more urban. Both are easy to style, with a little more going on than black or white, and both work beautifully with our Colourburst and Quiet Classics trousers. They join our Blake t-shirt in black, white and cypress green, plus papaya, a warm reddish orange, and a medium indigo blue that looks lovely with dark denim.
So, which one are you? The soft and feminine blush pink, the modern and urban grey melange, or one of our five other colours, from classic black and white to cypress green, papaya and indigo? xx
